The Old Bailey, technically and officially the Central Criminal Court of England and Wales, is a venerable court building located in London, infamous among the underworld for its tendency to be populated by 'hanging judges'. Trials that occur here deal with major criminal cases, particularly treason, piracy and murder. For the sake of stability in the Empire, clemency is rare, leniency practically unknown.
